What do I need for Band Camp?

Band is fun, but there are few things that you will need in order to do well and be successful over the 2 week period!

  • Athletic shoes!  There are no flip flops or sandals worn by students at band camp and students must wear shoes at all times. This is for your student's safety. 1 foot or ankle injury can end their season before it starts!

  • Athletic clothing.  Shorts and Cool tops like T-shirts or a Tank (no spaghetti straps)

  • A bottle that can hold A LOT of water. We suggest one that can hold at least a gallon at a time. Refilling a bottle at the band field is hard so being prepared with your own is very important!

  • Lunch/Dinner to eat. Camp run from 8am-8pm. Student are not allowed to leave campus in that time period. We do ask them to bring a packed lunch and dinner for their afternoon and evening breaks.

  • Shades! it bright and our field faces directly east and west.

  • Sun screen.  The sun can be harmful if you don't were it and burns are not fun!

  • Your working instrument.  You can't be a band with no instrument.  School owned instruments like tubas and low brass equipment will be checked out on the first day of camp.

  • A good attitude.  Band camp is fun, but it isn't always easy. A good attitude will get you a long way and help you be successful.
