Exercises for fall:
Drumline:

All Drumline players will need to purchase one pair of marching sticks (Ralph Hardimon).
All Drumline players will need a practice pad and a snare stand at band camp. Prefer a course hard rubber pad not the cheapo Remo pads. And a Snare stand that allows you to stand and play at the proper height and with the proper technique.  (“Ahead” Light Concert Snare Stand).  Stands for Marching Snares and Basses will be provided but you need your own stand for your practice pad.
All Single Hand and Single Line exercises will be played on both the instruments and practice pads during band camp.
All Vic Firth Marching Percussion 101 Exercises and all new exercises handed out should be learned. Use the following link to download the Vic Firth booklet.

We will select field warmups from appropriate exercises during camp based on proficiency of the group.
Have Summer Practice Parties if you can.

Mallet instruments may be available this summer on loan out but it will be first come first serve. You will need to communicate with your section leader to check out a marimba or a xylophone for practice. A notification as to availability and timing will be sent out at a later time.
We recommend that the Front Ensemble find a day or maybe two in the middle to later part of the summer to get together, and just get the cobwebs out and plan for future rehearsals. We will attempt to schedule this once we have a clear picture of when the show music will arrive and once parts have been assigned.

PRBB will check out mallets to students wanting to practice Stevens Grip over the summer with the understanding that if you break the mallets you buy exact replacement mallets.
All Front Ensemble players are expected to participate in all Band Camp Activities. That is when the majority of the show music learning and memorization will take place. Participation is not optional.
