FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why aren’t we marching at the game on Friday night?
Marvin Ridge is having middle school football night at halftime. Typically, we do not get to march at most away games.
Why are we doing a performance for the elementary school?
Typically we like to do a performance for the elementary school so that we can get an extra performance in before our first competition. Also, it is an excellent way to get students excited about band at the elementary level. We also do an edu-performance. This means that we educate our elementary students about musical instruments and marching band.
Why do you go outside during class time?
We go outside because it gives us an extra chance to clean our show so that it looks and sounds the best.
When do guard do their ”animal” makeup for the show?
The guard will practice in the “animal” makeup for this Thursday’s rehearsal after school. This is the only time during a rehearsal after school that they will be in makeup. They will only do “animal” makeup for competition days. These dates are Saturday, September 24; Saturday October 1; Saturday October 8; Saturday October 15 and Saturday October 22. Guard will not do “animal” makeup for football games.
Why is there a call time and a rehearsal begin time?
We do this so it makes everyone start rehearsal at the same time. By having the students come in a little early, it gets us organized for a rehearsal on Saturday which leads to greater success at competitions?
How long do awards ceremonies last?
Depending on how many trophies are handed out and how long the announcer takes announcing them, will directly affect how long the awards ceremony lasts.
How much does it cost to get into the competition at McBee?
I am unsure as of this email how much it will cost. The information emailed out to me does not have that listed. If I receive that information, I will let you know.
****NEW ADDITION TO THE CALENDAR
Central Office contacted me and has informed me that we are to march and play in the Hemby Bridge Parade on Saturday, November 19, 2016. This is the day before the Union County Christmas Parade. I will inform you of a call time when that becomes available to me. Please make this addition to your calendar. Thank you.
Have a great week!
