FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How come we don’t have any events this weekend?
The Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur is this weekend and we have been instructed by central office to cancel events for the weekend out of respect for this holiday.
Is this why the football game was moved to Thursday night?
Why don’t we have practice after school on Thursday?
This is a half day for students and teachers are in staff development workshops
Why aren’t we going to the game on Thursday night?
We have decided, as band directors, that this was going to be an off-weekend for the band in totality, to give students and their families time to relax before the next month of Fridays and Saturdays happens.
What happens if my senior isn’t in class on Thursday, when can they get their picture made?
You will need to speak with Stephanie Hinnerichs, our webmaster, so that it can be arranged to take a picture of your senior in their uniform.
Will the rest of the band get their individual pictures made as well?
Yes, we are working on dates and times that will not interfere with rehearsals to make that happen.
Do we have a schedule for next weekend yet?
Yes, but I will not be attaching it to this email, so there is no miscommunication about this weekend.
What is Winter Guard?
The basic answer to that question is:
Think Marching Band – with no percussion, no woodwinds, no brass, no drum majors and no football field. Add in a gym and just Color Guard with pre-recorded music.
Why are we going to the Hemby Bridge Parade?
This is a little bit more complicated to answer. The easiest answer, we have been instructed to be there and so we will be in attendance.
I hope everyone has a fantastic week and weekend!
