FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why do we go to Union County Preview?
We go to preview so that we can put our show in front of a set of judges without worrying about the competitive side of marching band. We get valuable feedback from highly qualified adjudicators and educators. It also gives a chance to see what the other bands in our county are doing for their shows. It is a very supportive atmosphere for all!
Does my child need to bring money for Preview?
Yes, concessions will be available at Marvin Ridge High School.
Why does Marvin Ridge host Preview?
In our county, different band programs will host different events for our band programs. Such as Porter Ridge hosts the all-county band clinic. Marvin Ridge has hosted this event since 2007.
How much does preview cost for admission?
Do the parents who are helping with equipment, etc… get passes?
They will be giving us 3 Band Director passes, 5 Instructor passes and 18 Adult Passes
Does the band have to stay and watch all of the marching bands?
Yes. Out of courtesy and respect for the other bands, we will stay and watch all bands.
Where does the band sit in the stands?
There will be a designated area for our band to sit in when we arrive.
Where do the parents sit?
Parents will have a section in the middle of the stands that they will able to sit in.
Are we allowed to cheer for our band?
Yes, and obnoxiously loud at that!
Will we be allowed to take off our uniform?
The hat you can take off. The jacket you can take off, and fold neatly in the stands. Please keep track of your uniform jacket and hat.
Okay, so I think that is all for now! Have a great week!!!!
