Frequently Asked Questions
Why do we go to preview?
The reason is this gives us a chance to perform in front of a panel of judges and our peers so that we may receive critique without an awards ceremony to worry about. It is an EXTREMELY educational experience!
Why do we rehearse on the day of the performance?
I believe that rehearsing the day of the performance refreshes a student’s memory. It also gives the students a chance to work out some of the nerves that are naturally attributed to performing. In general, it helps to boost a student’s confidence.
When can I complete Canvas assignments?
One of the best times to complete the Canvas assignments are before after school rehearsal between 3 and 3:45 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Since the students are here for rehearsal, it is a perfect time to complete assignments. On the days we have games, then in between the end of school and call time is another great time to work on it.
My laptop is messed up, or I cannot log onto Canvas….what do I do?
The first step is to make sure you have claimed your I Am account. Secondly, if the laptop is broken, then that will be a technology issue and will need to be handled by our technology services. Finally, if it is a problem uploading, then make sure you see Mr. Elliott.
How come we aren’t going to every away game?
We do not go to every away game, because we have budgeted a certain amount for transportation and have also drawn a radius for football games in order to save money. We will travel to most away games that are close to the school or in the county.
I am really looking forward to seeing the whole show on the field this Saturday. Please come out and support our band as we perform our show in its entirety for the first time on Saturday night!
Thanks to all the parents who helped out at the football game on Friday night.
Thanks to our equipment crew led by Frank Bellini for working efficiently and getting all of our rehearsals and performances set up.

Great job to the band on Friday for a strong performance of the first two movements.
