Welcome to your first weekly update for the 2016-2017 school year. Each week, I will be updating you as to what our schedule is for the week as well as Kudos and Frequently Asked Questions. Hopefully these updates will help you garner a deeper understanding of what we do during the marching band season.
Schedule for the week of 9/6 – 9/10
Tuesday – This morning we worked on memorization of the 2nd movement as well as music in the closer.
After School today we will start learning drill to the closer as well as review all of the drill to the first 3 movements
Wednesday – During class on this morning students will be taking school yearbook pictures as well as begin to receive their Chromebooks. Chromebook distribution will begin in the G Wing of the school. If a student wants to stay after school on Friday before the game, we are offering food orders. These order forms are due with the money in an envelope by the end of 1st block.
Thursday – During class on this morning, we will take our memorization test on the 2nd movement.
After school we will continue learning the closer to the show and will start putting music with movement. We will also review the first three movements of the show and will prepare for Friday night’s home football game.
Friday – During class on this morning, we will go outside and review what we will do for the Friday night football game.
After school, if students are staying after school, then they will need to stay in the A wing and behave appropriately until the football team is done eating. After the football team is done eating, then we will occupy the cafeteria and if your student completed an order form and turned it in by the end of 1st block on Wednesday, then they will have food delivered to them.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why doesn’t the band go to all football games?
Typically we seek to save money during the season so we do not attend all away games. We have a particular radius that we normally stay within for away football games.
When do students get the shoes and gloves they ordered?
The shoes and gloves are in, we are working on getting them organized and checked in. Then we will distribute them.
Do all students come to after school rehearsals?
Yes every Tuesday and Thursday is required for all students. Mondays are Color Guard and Percussion after school
Why do we need to turn in food order forms by Wednesday?
This is to ensure that we get all of the orders in to the restaurant in a timely manner and so that we will have all of our orders returned to us.
When is the first time we are wearing uniforms?
The first time we will be full uniform will be Union County Marching Band Preview on Saturday, September 17, 2016
Do we have the schedule for preview yet?
No, not yet. When that schedule becomes available to me, I will send out a schedule for the day.
Thanks everyone! Have a great week!
